DanTien:

I'll bite on your stock investigative list. I don't like any of them. I look for dividend paying stocks as well, but I do it with the twist of looking at historical dividend yields. You can see the strategy I use by looking at iqtrends.com to get the idea.

Anyway, conservative ideas on my radar:

HD - my fair value estimate of 48
TEVA - FV est at 48
mxim - a buy on strength over 50 DMA
SNV - buy range at 26
MCY - buy range at 52
MO - buy range is now (morals aside)

Others I like are JKHY and FNT (mgmt expects to be shelling out $2/yr as dividend and it's only 15%tax)

Hope that gives you some different ideas and some in the mid-cap range.

Re: Tax Wise Investing

eye - Thanks for your input
FNT - just happened to be the title company that did a house sale for us last month.
I wouldn't mind getting all and more of their fee back .
I have in the past invested in companies that provide me services - the ones that did a good job! I'll take a look at your suggestions - if they pan out I'll send you a finders fee - if not do you mind if I send you a bill to cover my losses?

Sure, but you have to hand it to me personally. I am in the miltary living in Japan. It may cost you more to fly to me than your actual losses.
