Thinking of purchasing a real estate investment trust stock and need advice

I will be 55 at year's end and was thinking of purchasing Realty Income (O) that has paid monthly dividends for the past 40 years. Would this be best placed in a tax deferred account?

Thank you.

Placing big dividend payers in your tax deferred accounts makes a lot of sense.
