Too much planning

I know that might be a short sighted statement, but all variables can't be pre-calculated, so I'm about 10 days away from turning in a 3 week notice. I have a 10 day trip to Barcelona planned next week to relax and review my options, but my current #1 option is to partial FIRE, maintain an income of about 40 to 45K a year for the next 13 years, then start pulling out my 401K ($700K now) at age 60. Health care is covered, and hopefully, that 700k (65% stock, 25% bonds, 10% cash) will keep growing.

Indeed.
Congratulations, Curt! Please let us in on your travel news, feelings about semi-retirement/early retirement, and any FIRE-related financial matters you care to share with us. If I remember correctly, you're an ER doc--I'm sure you'll be a special inspriation to Rich-in-Tampa
