Hopefully new rules allowing greater flexibility on withdrawals will come out in 2018!

I will be curious how the TSP implements some of these changes since the bill seems somewhat vague on some points. Like for those that have started monthly withdrawals the new bill allows unlimited changes to the amount and frequency of payments received but it's not clear to me if you'll be able stop those payments if desired. Anyone have a better read on this?

Right now, the smallest monthly payment allowed is $25. You could always change it to that amount, unless the law changed the amount for some unfathomable reason.

That would be $300/year, probably not enough to impact your TSP greatly.

About time. I will still probably take mine out in fixed RMD withdrawals when I reach 70.5 - not far away.
