Vanguard Managed Payout Funds

I already have retirement accounts with Vanguard but have some money sitting in an "interest" bearing checking account that I want to put somewhere. I would like to know if anyone has an opinion on their Managed Payout Funds vs any of VG's other funds.

Managed payout funds are only Vanguard's version of a balanced portfolio. They then claim they can send you the payout amount without running out of money. This isn't guaranteed.

I would recommend you manage your own AA and take a reasonable withdrawal. Any implied "safety" is an illusion.

If you search this site, past threads may be somewhat helpful. Here's one http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...nds-66214.html
