"In October and November 2007, Northern Trust conducted its third annual
Wealth in

America
study."

To me, the timing of the study makes it more of a curiosity than anything else. I would expect attitudes have shifted somewhat since then.

True. In that sense it's like a picture of a skyline of a major city just a few days before an 8-point earthquake struck it...

It seems like a quaint artifact from another age.
Shouldn't the 2009 survey becoming out soon?

Will they contribute less due to the stock market downturn and reduction in detectability?
"Most millionaires contribute both time and money to charitable and philanthropic
causes. The average total donation among millionaires in the past year was
$11,000, and, among decamillionaires, nearly $36,000. This represents a
significant decline from 2005, when charitable contributions were unusually high in
response to Hurricane Katrina and the Southeast Asian tsunami."
