Re: What is your age and AA?

Age 30
Slaving away, on course to FI - unsure when I'll add the RE (depends on future wife + family )

5.7% Cash/Cash Equivalents
34.6% Bonds/"Fixed Income"
59.0% Equity
0.7% Trees

Bonds:
5.9% Municipal
0.8% Bond portion of mutual funds (probably more, but I just threw it in here)
8.6% CDs/I-Bonds
0.8% Fixed-rate annuities
18.5% Preferred stocks/closed-end bond funds (variable and fixed)

Equity:
20.2% US Individual Stocks/funds
7.5% REITs/Utilities
2.9% Donor-Advised Fund equities
20.3% International Individual Stocks/funds
8.0% Natural Resources (mostly oil, some copper)

Will be adding more to International/Domestic Stock as I accumulate some cash, but would ideally like to get together with a few other investors to purchase commercial real estate.

widower, 63. 14th year of ER.

65,32,3 stocks,bonds,cash - 85% Target Retirement 2015, 15% individual stock or Drip plans.

Early SS and non cola pension provide 40% of income at throttle up and estimate that plus current yield could cover 100% easily in throttle back mode.

heh heh heh - 8)

Re: What is your age and AA?

53 & 61

Currently 40/40/20 stock/bond/cash
Target 60/30/10 or so

75% TIRA/5% ROTH/20% after tax

I'm giving retirement a trial run. May go back PT in August after youngest leaves for college. I'll be more prone to do so if the market tanks.

DH is winding own business down -- considers it PT at this point.

Guess we're sort of easing in to retirement...

Re: What is your age and AA?

55 for myself 57 for spouse

we use a rather unorthodox allocation method

money we will need over the next 6-7 years 100% cd's money markets, short term bonds

7-14 years, 100% laddered treasury bonds, unlisted reit paying 8.5%, bond funds of assorted types. thinking of adding an index linked annuity with guaranteed floors as a kicker to income

15 yrs plus 75% stock funds 25% strategic bond funds, real return funds, commoditiy funds

mathjac107...... So what is your overall AA? It sounds like you carry a high percentage of cash/cash equivalents as a percentage of your total portfolio.
