Bogle's Folly. All praise to index funds. 40 years and counting. Ya gotta love time in the market.

Retirement stash in hindsight maybe 90% index and doing nothing, 10% everything else (1966-present) - real estate rentals, raw land, coins, a patented gold mine(don't ask it's embarrassing), dividend stocks, penny stocks, tech stocks and some timberland. Psst Wellesley and many other mutual funds over the decades.

I still do a 'few good stocks' to keep the male hormones happy as well as watching football in season.

heh heh heh - a monumental failure as an astute speculator/investor. The index fund I didn't watch that much while auto investing regular amounts over a very long period of time turned out to be the big dog on the porch.

How about a little more of a summary than "good read"?

The article advocates buy-and-hold, and compares it to the poorer performance of panic selling after a 2% drop and buying back in 20 days later (regardless of how the market recovered). I doubt many here would learn anything new.

Blind links are frowned upon here, for good reason. If you think it's a good read, tell us why.
