WSJ - Signs Your Pension Plan Is in Trouble

It is accessible w/o a subscription/payment.

Is there point would you like to make, or were you just curious if it was behind a pay-wall? W/O any comment, you basically posted a blind link.

The article covers four items:

Your pension is healthy, but your employer isn't.

Your plan offers lump-sum payouts.

Your company changes hands.

Your employer gets religion.

Makes me think of SS not being able to pay full benefits down the road.

Company changes hands killed my pension in 1994 (technically frozen at a very low benefit). Though it didn't seem so at the time, they probably did me a favor in that it forced me to plan on fending for myself while I still had time to do so.

Even though I receive a pension I still save and watch my money. Never know what could happen. Supposedly ours is doing really well.
