Post retirement Occupation !!!!!!!!!!!!

As we get older we sometimes begin to doubt our ability
to "make a difference" in the world.
It is at these times that our hopes are boosted by the remarkable
achievements of other "seniors" who have found the courage to
take on challenges that would make many of us wither.

Harold Schlumberg is such a person:

THIS IS QUOTED FROM HAROLD:
"I've often been asked, 'What do you do now that you're retired?'
Well...I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background
and one of the things I enjoy most is converting beer, wine and
whisky into urine.

It's rewarding, uplifting, satisfying and fulfilling. I do it every day and I really enjoy it."

Not impressed!

I have been doing that since I was 18.

Beats shopping for the best possible deal on dental floss...

The region I live in is chock full of microbreweries. I intend to give every last one a chance to convince me that their product is best. Think of it as a second career...

As they say...

You can only rent beer !

Or...

This too shall pass !

That's a great post-retirement occupation! (In my case, I would substitute Crystal Light or just plain water for the beer, wine, or whiskey.)

All of our lives we are indoctrinated with the idea that we have an obligation to work hard and contribute to society. Or at least, I was. Now that I am 64 and not getting even slightly younger every day, I think it is time that I spend most of every day contributing to my own happiness and enjoyment of the time remaining to me.

Let's hear it for liquid conversions, and for Nords' surfing, for that matter. For every thing there is a season, and time for every purpose unto heaven. Once we have retired it is time for these great post-retirement occupations.

I think I will go do that chemical conversion now.
