IMHO, the Kiplinger site is color coded to a specific type of retiree... weighted to higher income/asset brackets. In our case, the overall tax is less in Illinois, than in Florida, which has the best (lowest tax) rating. Depends on your financial situation, as well as where you live within the state.

I worked in IT in automation tools and am an above average googler.

I've seen some pretty good links in my short while here and you folks have a lot of FIRE experience.

Sorry for the confusion. When I said for comparison I meant an easier comparison tables, maps, charts, or tools vs just a list.
