Cheap places to travel and stay

In a previous topic, someone suggested the Boss Tower in Thailand as a full service place to stay, at only $300 / mth. http://www.bosstower.com/
I found this quite fasinating and am quite curious if others on this board have simailar suggestions on various places (with optional contact points, ie. web sites) thoughout the world where service and price are awesome. I am interested in clean and safe places... everything else is gravey...
