Well, by the time I bailed out of w*rk I was certainly hating it. The advantage of leaving under such terms is that I'm certain I don't want to go back!
Obviously, some days in ER go better than others, but I never think about going back!

I'm thankful I trimmed back from 70%+ equities in 2014 when I began the quick descent to ER. We originally planned ER for 2016 or 2017, but I just couldn't take it anymore. So I re-allocated to about 50% equities and bailed out of w*rk earlier this year.
So far, the current AA allocation allows me to sleep at night. Good enough...

Putting myself in at #21. ER date 01/01/2016 age 59 1/2. Last day will will be effective on 12/31/2015. I had informed management last April 2015. Loved the Job till new management came in the last year and a half and started to go downhill with new boss.
Getting a little anxious about it (fear of the unknown and the change from accumulation to spending) but every time I am at the office and see all the BS, I can't wait for the end of this year. Life is too short to deal with it.
when I feel anxious about ER, I just go to this site and read how ER is not that bad and can be enjoyable and life changing for the better. Thank you to all the good people on this site....

I understand your post very well about simply 'is it worth staying for?' Sometimes the unpleasant parts of work outweigh the enjoyable aspects......
I too have been considering one more year possibly part time but ....
now I am placing my intention here to ER as of June 30, 2016.
I don't have to make my final decision for a while however. I needed to post it here, and just see how that feels.
Hmmm, feels kind of good to say that!

Woo Hoo. Countdown time is at 199 days! I actually like my job but now my interests In life have turned to other pursuits so I tend to get bored with the w*rk. No more striving to w*rk smarter, be more productive, or "improve" I'm just fine the way I am!

Since I failed to graduate with the class of '14 I'm not giving a date. However I'm 99.9% sure it's in the first half of 2016. Initially I put it out there I'd take a layoff. This backfired in that management thought I'd quit if they threw me under the bus at review time. It just ticked me off. Now I'm giving them proposals for the projects extending into the next three years. Suddenly they think I'll be here forever. Fools. Now maybe they'll think I need the job and can me. ( hey I can dream, right?)

I sure hope not! I'm thinking one or two more. No way I'm working past 55. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

If you include semi-retirement (maintaining part-time work) on the list, I'll be downshifting on 8/26/16, at the age of 55.

Thats me too, but at one day a week at home if they take me up on it, I still count it as retired (almost).
How much you planning to downshift to?

Two or three days per week, less than 20 hours/week. I'm looking forward to it. It'll be a big reduction in stress and a big gain in leisure time. I'm not suited for full retirement; this is as close to that as I'm likely to get for a long time.
