I had an aunt had planned for many years to FIRE at around 55 or 56, but her supervisor kept talking her into staying "just one more year". And being the ol' softy that she was, she stayed for a year...then another year....then another....etc. That went on until she hit 65, at which time she decided to retire on December 31st of that year, and had filled out all of the paperwork.....finally! Her plans hit a major snag though just 3 weeks prior to her FIRE date.......she suffered a heart attack on her way to work, and died a couple of hours later.
Moral of the story:
If you have the opportunity to FIRE.......(as NIKE says) "Just Do It"!!! Life's too short, and NO job is worth dying for!!!
