My beloved mother-in-law is in the final days of her fight with uterine cancer.
In my hopes of understanding how I can help make her transition easier I turned to Google to see if I could find a book that would help me understand how to help her during this time in her life.
I found a book called "Final Gifts". It's written by a group of hospice nurses who help demystify the dying process. The book has helped me understand how to be there for her, how to react when I think she's delusional (she's not) and basically how to help her ease into whatever comes next.
Before I read this book I was scared of death... I'm no longer scared.
