Can be even worse in Europe. I was a director for a number of European companies when I lived in Belgium a few years ago. In some places the directors are personally liable for many actions of the company and criminally liable for some (D&O insurance doesn't usually help when you are in jail). To this day I will never set foot in Turkey ( I was a director for a company in Turkey )
