Right. We're all different, and what would work just fine for one retiree might not work well at all for someone else.

Since you mentioned you were having "cold feet" in your original post, my advice would be to wait a little bit after you retire to start planning your move. You may find that, after 6 months or so of retirement, you are eager to get on with the move, and if so, then by all means go ahead with it. On the other hand, if you still have reservations at that point, then stay where you are a while longer, and see how things go for you. You're in control of the rest of your life now, so just take your time and make decisions based on what feels best for need to follow any pre-set timetable.
