Goin' Back In!

Never thought I would do it. Never thought it would happen. But if the old company wins the contract for the United States Antarctic Program, ER will be a thing of the past. Hitting the ice will be that proverbial "chance of a lifetime" for this ol' boy. Man, am I excited!!!

How long are we talking? I'd love to visit the Antarctic, but a week would be plenty. I'm guessing this is longer? What's the attraction for you?

That's why they call it financial INDEPENDENCE.

Hope it comes to pass for you.

Sounds great! I'd go in a second, even if it was w*rk. I almost got a job on an atoll in the Pacific once, 4 months on and 2 months off (in Hawaii). Anything unusual or unique would be tempting. Good luck.

The attraction...adventure while pushing 60 pretty damn hard; helping maintaining a pristine environment while supporting the science that measures man's impact on same(glacial loss, stratospheric ozone, etc.); going to the south pole; hanging out with a super team of smart, dedicated individuals who are funny as hell; and the challenge of (e) all the above. If we win I'll be based in the US while making annual visits to the ice. Did I metion the aurora austrailis?

The Challenge of a Lifetime

So there you are in the Polar-dome building with a giant first winter storm approaching. The last plane out leaves so there is no way in or out for 4-6 months.

Then the next morning the group discovers.... The dead body and that there is a psycho amongst you. The psycho has also disabled the twin snow-cats which, though quite risky, are your only means of escape.

One by one others are killed off until it's just you and the psycho-killer in the polar-dome. It's kill or be killed !

- Stay tuned for the final update !

Ha-ha. That reminds me of the time I went camping with some buddies in sub-freezing weather and we had to keep our meds inside an ice chest to keep them from freezing. We should have brought stronger meds.

Yeah I like to drink my meds, not eat them. But, I will do what I have to do.
