Looking for RV sites in Colorado

One of the fantasies I have gone back to year after year when thinking about early retirement was to leave the heat and humidity of South Louisiana for a month or two each summer.
I have always wanted to drive the motorhome up to Colorado for the months of July and August.
Do any of you know of a area in Colorado that caters to retirees? Someone once told me that so many Texas retirees go to Lake City, Colorado during the summer that it is called Lake City, Texas.
I'm open to any suggestions

I drove by a couple of sites in the CO mountains a few years ago. The rv's were packed in there like a can of sardines. Hopefully they are not all that way, otherwise I can't see how that would be fun. The mountains were beautiful though.

Some friends vacation in South Fork every year and love it.

Peruse campgroundreviews.com :: Home . That's a great way to find good RV parks.

Also, the forum on Trailer Life Magazine: America's Number One RV Magazine has lots of discussions in their destinations section. It's a good place to post such a question.

Colorado has some decent state parks too.
