And that's why teachers teach. That was really nice of the regular teacher to give feedback. Wow.

I'll be posting a thread about teaching adults soon... doing searches to see what else has already been discussed.

What we need here is more of Atlanta's brilliant scheme to pay kids 8 dollah an hour to stay in school.

No, that isnt a joke it is actually occuring.

Make me king for a day...ah yes...and I would fire every school administrator in the country and hire the homeless in their stead for an instant increase in efficiency. Now, that was kind of a flippant remark, but hey, the homeless for the most part know they are nuts, Academia on the other hand has lost their frigging minds, yet think they are the greatest things since sliced bread.

BTW, Can I say Frigging on this board?

Yeah - more respect to teachers, and less respect to the negligent parents who let their kids get away with crap like that.

In general, I'm not a cheerleader for teachers or their tenure-based union system, but it's a joke how many people in America want to blame teachers for the fact that their children are hooligans who don't bother trying to learn how to read, write, or even speak properly. Typical Joe Six-pack reaction: my kid is an idiot so it must be the teacher's fault.

I have done some volunteer tutoring in my free time, and I have considered doing more volunteer teaching after I FIRE, but I'll only do it at a school that has the guts to discipline its students; and most of those that do are private schools that don't need volunteers anyway.

Oh well.
