Hey, that looks like the fish I see in the canals in Mesa every day. Except for every 15 days when the flood irrigation is running, they swim in only about 2 feet of water. And they could run about 175 feet between locks. They have to run is straight lines though.

People fish the canals, but I never see anyone catch anything. You should come to Mesa and show them how it's done, CT.

Hey, I sure hope that isn't a three-inch rod next to a minnow!

Our river is loaded with carp. We don't fish for them, but they get huge.
C-T, if you are anywhere near to Sturgeon Bay and look to the west,
you can see where I lived for 11 years (Marinette, Wisc.). It's about 16 miles across the Bay. Anyway, some great fsihing and great memories.

It is interesting to think of the amount of fish available for food
right outside our door. 90 miles from Chicago and with a garden,
hunting and fishing, we could provide a huge portion of our needs.
This would fit into the "Possum Living" mode. The potential is
there is you wanted to do it. We could but have no plans to do so.

DW caught a black buffalo (that's a fish folks) on Wednesday.
The bait shop weighed it at 24 lbs. on the nose (33 inches/25 inch girth).
The state record is 23 lbs 12 oz. Unfortunately we took a lot of time getting it into town and weighed on a certified scale. Otherwise, she probably would be in the
record books. I never caught anything that big in my life. When I first saw it I told her "we're gonna need a bigger boat!"

I passed through Marinette last year for the first time. Pretty "woodsy". You need to learn how to take the mud vein out of the carp and smoke it like they do down south. I bet it would taste just like ham.

What is wrong with lake Michigan. It has to be cleaner up that way than down by Chicago and Milwaukee. Milwaukee is always shooting raw sewage out the lake. Also, recently there was a huge problem with condoms being discharged into the lake. Apparently a lot of dirty guys flush them down the can and the plants have to have screen for them, lol.
