Park Model RV's
What the deal using these to live in and avoiding property taxes ? Is this possible in all states ?
Where are some good locations to rent a lot for one close to the beach or on a lake ? Is there a size limit on them to avoid paying property taxes ? |

Re: Park Model RV's
Most states have a 'personal property tax' that applies to moveable dwelling units - mobile homes, house boats. The devil is in the details as written in various state tax laws.
I suggest you don't focus on property taxes, but look at your cost of housing as a whole. Add together all the pieces (property tax, insurance, maintance, transportation to and from the places you frequent). Consider depreciation as a cost. RVs and mobile homes rarely pencil out if you need residual value.

Re: Park Model RV's
I am not sure what you are asking. Obviously there is tax or raw land and developed land. If you go to a mobile home park it may look like you do not have tax and maybe you will not recieve a real estate tax on your mobil home but the land owner is still paying for a developed site and you will pay directly or indirectly for that.
There may be good reasons for RV living, Park Models and mobil homes but once you get attached to a piece of developed land there will be some tax in there. The good reasons to live that way is the location, lower overall housing costs, and potential to relocate. But you give up appreciation if you do not own the land and you are subject to being relocated if the market/landowner raises land rents.
