Retired mentally, but working to be productive
I'm off to Alexandria, Egypt along the Mediterranean in a couple weeks to live and teach physics/chemistry for a year or two. I enjoy the travel and the interaction as a teacher, but hope to have the attitude that I'm mentally retired but enjoy the activity. Has anyone been to the Mediterranean, particularly Alexandria?
I've decided after being there for a year, I'm returning to Singapore to more fully retire. A few years ago I became a "Permanent Resident", which is like a green card holder in the states, and it gives me the same privileges as a citizen except I cannot vote. The respect given the elderly, and the safety of the country is unsurpassed. Life there perhaps is not the most exciting, but it's right in the center of SE Asia where travel is cheap and convenient.
I enjoy reading all of the exciting experiences many of you have had. I'll keep you posted on Alexandria.
