Still not looking for a job but...

I just noticed the fine print on my Home Depot receipt:

"Now hiring spring season associates part time & full time. Apply today in-store or online at storecareers.homedepot.com/hourly."

I guess Nardelli's not overburdened with talent after all. Hey, wasn't he trained by Jack Welch to fire the bottom 10% every year?

That's just a trick to lure in more fodder. After the spring rush, he'll have a 10% to cut.

Here in "Middle America," seems like employers want only, the Goofy Lookin Dudes, with spiked hair. If you have over 20 years experience, in retailing and refuse to clean toilets, you can't get a response to your on line application. (Slight exageration.)

Not for me... IMO most of us in ER have HC costs funded from savings or previous employer's benefit programs. I might need that bennie 25-30 years from now if my SWR goes kerfluie. Firecalc says otherwise.

But 20hrs./wk. is real work and that severly limits your ability to travel, to do what you want,... to be retired.
