Other than sports access, I have plenty of OTA channels (even with a simple indoor antenna) to satisfy my craving for TV.
To OP: I haven't found a bundle that beats shopping around service by service. I have Verizon for the smart phone, ATT for cheapo landline and DSL and Comcast for cable.

Being a sports guy too, we are the ones grabbed by the short hairs. NFL, MLB, NHL,etc. demand more for rights to carry, networks pay it, then they demand more carrying fees from cable and satellite to pay for it. Cable and satellite companies balk, threaten to not carry their network, sports fan then in turn threaten to drop them so they pay up, then ultimately pass on the cost in the bill. There are some online links of origin outside the US that show these " free". You could hook your Ipad 2 into TV and watch. You can cancel satellite and cable and just buy MLBTV or NHL and watch through your internet, but you have to wait 24 hours to watch "in market" game. I prefer live and on my tv, so I complain and pay the bill.
