I use FireFox 1.5.0.9 and I also tried IE 7 - Same result - this is what I get.

FWIW, I don't see the embedded images in FF2, but I do in IE6 or IE7.

[EDIT: FF was as a guest, so disregard... I am seeing the images as expected]

I have firefox and its showing me all the images just fine.

Maybe its more afraid of me than you guys.

Do you have any ad-blocking apps running? You might check through your settings to see if there's anything related to images that you can change.

No. - Pretty vanilla software. - I did check as many settings as I could. It's happening to me on 2 different computers with 2 different browsers. I suspect something in my profile, but I checked that and nothing was obvious.

Strange. I looked at various browser settings for IE7 but can find anything remotely related to this problem.

A shot in the dark: Have you cleared the browser cache and emptied the trash can?

I tried clearing my Cache, Cookies etc. just now to no avail. The strange thing is that I created another test account and was able to see the pics just fine.

It's probably somethign you have set in your profile so that you can't access files (to prevent downloading viruses).

Congratulations on joining the dark side
I find it interesting since people typically migrate from a rag-boat to a stink-potter and you did the other way around from your trawler to a Bristol.
And who are you kidding? 18 months refit will take at least twice as long
Bristols are mighty fine yachts, IIRC 29 is a classic Herreshoff design from this era.
I've only got a short day-sail on 27, which was designed by Alberg, but looked very similar.

Do you plan to liveaboard after the refit?
Day-sails? Week-long cruises?
Doing refit yourself? Paying the yard?
Curious minds want to know.

Heh -- I had already applied the factor, but I factored the estimated 6 months to 18. :P

And we didn't exactly go from a stink pot to a blow boat -- we had an RV in the middle. So our progression seems pretty random.

Yep -- the 29 was a Herreshoff design. I have had a couple of friends with Bristols, and they both were very happy with them. Both were liveaboards, one a cruiser with a 29-9, the other mostly at a marina, with a 35. We buddy-boated with the 29-9 for almost a year from the Chesapeake to St Petersburg and back, and got to know that boat fairly well during that time. The owner of the 35 was the guy who bought Dory from us, and he lives on her now.

We'll do the initial work in the Chesapeake somewhere. Once that is done, we are still talking about what to do, but the idea at this point is to bring it (by water) to some place on the Texas coast, such as Kemah or Galveston. The alternate idea is to use it for a few months on the east coast, then truck it to a large lake near where we are. Part of the decision will depend on yet-to-be-done research on what the cruising is like -- anchorages, etc.

Once it gets to Texas, whether on the coast or at a lake, we'd spend a few days aboard several times a month, with the occasional week or two aboard, weather permitting.

The refit work will be about like it was with Dory. I'll do a good bit myself, and a guy who does such stuff for a living (the guy who bought Dory) will do pretty much all the paint and most of the joinery (boat woodwork and cabinetmaking, in non-sailorese) to finish paying off what he owes me on Dory.

Very pretty boat, but I am getting seasick just looking at it! I hate that weakness (seasickness) in myself. It would be fun on a nice gentle lake though.

Our friends with Bristol's have also been enthusiastic about the design, layout, seaworthiness, etc. And it is interesting that you have gone to a sailboat after the trawler. I am thinking our space needs have increased since we sold the 28' sailboat, and we'd have to look in the 40' range for a sailboat, so I think we are headed in the opposite direction.
