Thousands of people make the ski trip to Tahoe every weekend in the winter. As for Yosemite you can leave on a Sat morning and be there at 9 or 10. Then come back Sunday Eve. That's not even counting all the three day weekends, or the fact that you can also leave Friday eve.

SF to Napa and Sonoma are traffic free cept for normal 5pm rush hour traffic.

I've lived in the Bay area for 35yrs and the only traffic that ever bothered me was the commute times. Outside those hours it's not bad at all.
