Jail broke my iphone. Unlocked my iphone. Popped in a T-mobile prepaid pay-as-you go sim. Shut down all data push. Now I search for starbucks, corner bakery, etc. for free wifi spots to check email. Net $ saving going from At&t: $79/month. Work reimbursed me for it until this year, but I waited until the contract was up to cancel without a fee.

Got my results today from blood work done yesterday. All the bad numbers are down and my thyroid has leveled off. My doctor is elated and so am I. After today, DH will have another week of RT under his belt (no pun intended) and still has no serious/painful side effects.

It's 84 degrees and sunny...I took advantage of that and got some sun on my toes.

Today I've been able to look at the dandelions and see the delicate flower...not the weed.

Went for a hike. Put some danish oil on my latest woodworking project. Did yardwork for the first time in 2011 and almost poked my eye out with a stick. Its a little sore and blurry, but it's still better than a day at work.

Woke up with the cat on the bed; did laundry; daffodils are blooming; made soup.

Took a day of vacation and went clothes shopping. Was excited about some deals I got only to end up spending more because of it. I'm now watching the Harry Potter marathon this weekend. Oh yeah, I also cleaned up the mugwort in the garden that was leftover from the fall as well as raked a thick layer of cinders off the lawn that the snowplow threw there the past few months.

Today's featured movie is "CB&C...The Sequel"

St Patrick's Day is being celebrated again and again 2 days later with a corned beef and cabbage dinner at the local Legion. I'll pass the cabbage to Mr B this time. Once in a week is plenty for my intestines.

It's a beautiful sunny day, 42F, and the forecast for tonight is clear skies for the "Supermoon". I better practice my howling.

I just did some "divot" repair in my front yard. The snowplow guy kept his plow blade up a little bit at my request, but sometimes the plow will bounce down and scrape up some turf. It was fun playing with mud and grass with my bare hands.

Nice day in Seattle, with high clouds, sunshine and 50-60 degrees (depending on where you were). Took a 3 mile hike on Redmond's Education Hill and spotted these guys wandering the hiking paths.

I have already given it away.
Don't think I'll be getting anything else.
Didn't expect to.

Worked a few hours in the Wrigleyville area - Cubs fans milling around looking anxious for the season to start. Performed beer research and lunched at the Goose Island brewery. Took DW shopping and showed her the supermoon.

Spent the day catching up on e-mail, finances, the book's marketing, and the blog. Finally opened the box with the "like new" $35 Linksys dual-band wireless router, but I'll install it next week during a day when spouse is out of the house for a few hours.

"Supermoon" over here is currently obscured by "super rain". Our pet bunny ventured outside to sample the grasses in the mulch bed (under my wary escort) but got chased back inside by all that nasty wet stuff. We'll both have to try again around 2 AM.

Spouse and I are really looking forward to Monday when the rest of the world gets off the streets and goes back to work. We need to call the U.S. Postal Service to correct their errors on my Dad's forwarded mail request, drop off a set of window blinds for repairs, visit a Verizon store for a phone question, deposit a check, and, oh yeah, pick up the prescription items for next month's colonoscopy prep.

The "Supermoon" was fabulous last night. Yes, I howled at it.
We woke up to yet another clear sunny day, with a nice temperature of 46F.
I am enjoying watching the snow continue to melt away in the front and back yard. We will still get some snow flurries here and there until mid May, but spring has truly arrived.
Mr B has to attend a wake for a fellow Legionnaire, then go get some budget data for a project he is doing for the County Legion. So I have the house all to myself to do whatever strikes my fancy.
I plan to tape off the unstained trim around the new picture window. I can get that project going when I see two consecutive days of warm enough weather to open windows to vent away the stain fumes.
In the meantime, maybe I'll go out and deal with dog manure before it rains, i.e. sogginess can make that job a real joy. TMI?

I loved the Supermoon but it was a little disconcerting! I could see it in great detail, as though I still had the sharp eyes of youth. But it seemed too big and for some reason that made me feel uneasy. I *know* it isn't going to fall on us.... really, I do.

Yesterday during dinner my son saw something odd running across a neighbor's lawn and into our yard. It was already 7:45 PM and starting to get dark but we all saw it. It was a LARGE bird, definitely not a hawk as we see those all the time here. Looked like a turkey but I've only seen those in a grocery store meat case!

It was walking and bobbing and eventually flew/jumped into a neighbor's large oak tree. We looked it up in a bird book and it really was a turkey. It sat there for a while but was gone this morning.

Not a great picture because it was getting dark.

Missed the Supermoon due to cloud cover here Stayed up really late with SO watching DVD's - we just didn't feel like going to sleep until 6am for some weird reason.

Just went outside and fixed minor damage to my short wave antenna from the strong gusts last night.

Now sitting at desk thinking about first cuppa joe of the day and listening to recording of US Psyops broadcast which was being jammed by the Libyans (I do a lot of listening to short wave radio).

That first cuppa coffee is going to taste sooo good!
