Spread fertilizer on the grass. Yeah, I know it's late in the year, but it was on sale! Better late than never anyway.

I stayed in bed till 1:00pm that was awesome! Cleaned the house, and have two evening clients. Then lots of laundry!

I spent most of the morning cleaning, one hour grocery shopping, and the remainder of the afternoon cooking. I am having some best friends over to dinner tonight. I have deliberately made dishes that don't require high maintenance at the last minute. Looking forward to an evening of good food, wine and conversation!
Of course, when I was working, this would have been impossible on a weeknight.

We went for the first time to senior Wednesday at our nearby movie theater, $2 off the regular matinee price. By far we were the youngest. Apparently the regulars see all the movies no matter the subject, because we were surprised to see the audience members for Don Jon, a very mature comedy somewhat explicit in its story about the main character's addiction to online porn; we weren't surprised to see most of them leaving 10 minutes into the show (our review: good acting, weak second half. Don't bother).

Spent some time outside with the fall leaf foliage. When looking at the trees overhanging the house, I was hoping that they would hurry up and fall. When I was going for a walk, I was hoping that they would not fall so fast to that the fall colors could last longer.

Went to an annual apple tasting at a local nursery. Got to try 25-30 different varieties of apples. Many of the varieties were also for sale so I brought some home for further sampling.
I do love fall, but know that I will soon be raking leaves.

For the first time ever, went to a major music festival - 1st day of 2nd weekend of Austin City Limits. Now that they have gone to 2 weekends, it's not limited to hard core music fans (last year the 75,000 tickets sold out in a few days). Had a great time - great music, good beer and food, everyone friendly and helpful, and totally awesome to see folks from 2 to 82 having fun. I'm not trying to do the marathon and stay all day, just enjoy it in reasonable doses. Still debating about Sunday night's headliner Lionel Ritchie - was not planning on it but the reviews from last weekend were good and I'd love to hear Brick House live.
Forecast is for occasional rain Saturday and Sunday but I'm prepared with umbrella and poncho. Rock on!
edit - Forgot to mention that watching ASL interpreters at a live concert is a show in itself. They are incredible artists as they interpret both the music and the words to those with hearing deficits. ACL has them for selected performances and it was incredible to watch.

Chauffered DW and her sisters to town, which is inundated with vendors of various artsy craftsy stuff.
The town is blocked off for this event.
Now I'm off for cofee to the next town, taking the bypasses only known to locals. Will get called around 4 to pick up the ladies with what I presume will be lots of bags of important stuff, for women.

I went to church, where I enjoyed a sermon that prominently featured Bartolomé de las Casas. Quite appropriate for this holiday weekend. After church, we took the roadster out for what might prove to be the last expedition of the season. We ate lunch outside overlooking the Housatonic River and went for Rich Farm ice cream in Oxford CT (the best ice cream on the planet).

Friday we went to see Gravity at the newly refurbished cinema. Very entertaining, more so now that they have comfortable seats and no offensive odors.
Yesterday we went to a Scarecrow festival near where DD & family live. Part fair, part Halloween celebration. Some businesses assembled some very creative displays. The kids and adults all had fun.

First post!
Yesterday we awoke at 4:00 am in order to run a half marathon with our daughters and their significant others. Enjoyed a late brunch afterward at daughter #1's, returned home and soaked in our HOA spa, then ordered takeout pizza for dinner. Asleep before 9:00 pm, as you can probably imagine.

I thought about cutting the grass. Then decided "nah". Maybe I'll do it tomorrow.

- up at very dark-thirty to get ready for work
- dealt with the c**p that work throws at me
- spent over 1/2 hour, mostly on hold with a megacorp 'retirement specialist'
- found that I am not, oops - maybe am eligible for retiree insurance (bit my tongue stoically)
- dealt with more work c**p
- took DW to PT session
- got callback from megacorp RS, Oh yes! I am eligible. Although premiums, deductible, & OOP are ridiculously prohibitive. As in exchange premiums/subsidy are far more attractive this evening.
- Ok, finally home 14 hours later.
- Some liquid pain management.
- Leftovers for supper.
OK here is my question. Other than not having to deal with c**p at work, and the hours spent dealing with it; does much change in ER? If not, it sounds like heaven.

Spent the day at Ikea listening to DW give ideas for remodelling the kitchen and bathrooms. *sigh*

Well, the "up at very dark-thirty" will go. The "leftovers for supper" might go, because you will have the time to concoct a delicious meal from scratch, and there might not be any leftovers.
You won't have to dress for w*rk (hey, you could lounge around all day in your jammies if you wanted to!) and instead of dealing with w*rk crap you could be out enjoying the Fall weather.
Sounds good?
