Just got back from western Kansas (Cheyenne County) where I was "on location" for a client buying interest in roughly 1,000 shallow natural gas wells. My first Part time gig and for an old client I always have been there for.

Saw snow this morning and 8 F when I left St. Francis, KS for Denver. It was 38 F and raining when I landed in Houston tonight.

What a nice way to remember loved ones. My favorite HMB pub was the Miramar Beach Inn, now a restaurant.

Went to the gym with DW, later to the grocery store. Free lunch tomorrow with the neighbor whose driveway I cleared with the snow thrower. He'll insist on paying, and I think he does it more just to get out of the house. They're usually snowbirds but his wife has some serious health issues and they're staying home this year.

Long walk along the Sammamish River near Seattle, on a perfect Seattle day.

It got up to 20 degrees F today, so DW and I went downtown for ice cream cones and coffee, to celebrate the heat wave.

Walked and watched the sunrise, laundry on the line, helped clean fish...
I could get used to this.

I didn't start the morning out very good. Fell down the stairs. Its taken me a couple of hours to get to where I can move around slowly. Socks, wooden stairs and carrying stuff was not a good combination. Think I'll put my shoes on before using the stairs from now on.

The bad part is the guy I am renting a room from just got out of the hospital yesterday. I was supposed to be looking after him. Instead, he had to look after me.

Hope it is just bruises that fade quickly. Do you have an immediate care clinic nearby that can take x-rays, just in case?

Thanks MichaelB, I may need to go that route. I'm not too crazy about all the tests they do in the hospital emergency room. I'll assess as the day goes on.

In our area there are some immediate care clinics. They are staffed with one doctor, and have nurses and techs as needed for simple lab work and x-rays. They fill the need in-between a regular doctor visit and the emergency room and are usually walk-in with little wait.

And they are considerably less expensive than an emergency room visit.

I talked to the phone nurse for my insurance company. It doesn't sound like I broke anything. She recommended using an ice pack which I think I will do. I found the right urgent care clinic for my insurance. It is associated with the hospital I used last year for outpatient surgery, so I think I am good. I think I am fine, but I don't recommend bouncing down the stairs as a good way to start the morning!

Hope you feel better tomorrow Hermit.

--------------

I'm glad today is not Sunday...this means I won't get any mail.

Yesterday we got a lovely invitation for free meals at a local restaurant I love. We assumed it was from a financial institution. That was not the case...it said 'Important cremation, funeral and cemetery information you should know...' Oh, joy.

Makes me wonder if I ordered charbroiled, they'd put me down for cremation.

Hate to break it to you, but it IS Sunday. At least where I live. (Is this an indication of being RE too long?)

But today is Sunday! You're losing it, bbbamI!

I hate these solicitations too.

Actually I do know today is Sunday....I added a 'not' when I shouldn't have. However, it's not uncommon for me to wonder what day it is.

I'd go just for the free meal at a favorite restaurant and to listen to the morbid jokes that would be bound to come up. I'd probably have to go by myself as DW would give me funny looks at the thought.

I would but that's a bit of a trip from WV. With the right group of people that could turn out to be a very entertaining evening.
