Maybe its time...when you need a belt, suspenders, rope, and duct tape...

Yesterday mowed my grass and helped a neighbor cut down 2 trees. Damn it was hot. Sore as heck right now. Wish it was time for Wed weigh ins, I would be closer to my goal.

Congrats for saving yourself at the last minute.

Is there a videotape to put on youtube?

About belt, suspenders, rope, and duct tape, airliners have for some time flown on triplex or even quadruplex redundant flight control systems. We would have a lot more crashes if that weren't the case.

It would be nice for an ER to have such redundant income sources. I can think such a system: pension, SS, 401k, and IRA. However, each by itself must be able to provide the income one needs, eg. 4% SWR.

Oops, there is a gotcha. There is a thing called a common-mode failure, I think, that is sometimes overlooked by the aircraft designers. Many crashes happen because one failure of the above type can take out multiple systems, rendering the redundant systems simultaneously useless. I wonder what that could be for economic systems? Nah, perish the thought.

Spent today wondering if I'll wake up tomorrow. Or if I'll want to, apparently my 7th decade starts then.

I suppose, the upside is that my portfolio doesn't have to last as long as an 25 year old retiree's does.

Goodness, yes! Life is great at 60. With any luck I'll get to experience more of life at 60 but just for the next 8 days.

I'll let you know about life at 61 next year.

Not only would I wake up , I'd increase my yearly withdrawal to 4.5% maybe even 5% !

My dance card is full today...I need to (a) mow the back lawn, (b) vacuum the upstairs, and (c) put a 2nd coat on a small painting project.
This is a fine day to remember the slogan from one of my send-off party cards...
Retiree's motto: "I don't want to and I don't have to."

I think at least 2 hours of deciding on (a), (b), or (c) is in order.
I always did like multiple choice exams.

Don't do anything today that you can put off 'till tomorrow.

Ah, too late. Choice (b) vacuum won. The dog hair tumbleweeds were annoying me.
Plus I wanted to log 1 complete early in the day, then spend 2 hours deciding on (a) or (c).
Grass is still very wet, so I think I know what will be on deck next.

I'm working at the p.d. this morning. There is a lady that has been here for about 30 minutes...she talks non-stop. Where's my gun?

Is she still there in front of you?
If so, have one of your officers page you with "bbbamI, please report immediately for your poison ivy medicine"

I amended my post...poison ivy is better. Less chance of a panic.
Or just start scratching all over and let her ask what's wrong.
An answer of poison ivy or fleas should do the trick.
