OTOH, I once knew a guy about whom it was often said that his head was so far up there it was back in the right place.

I'd get a second opinion. Maybe you could ask your wife?

Being retired, I really messed up. I thought today was THURSDAY instead of Wednesday.
Tomorrow (Thursday), I have a doctor appointment that I have been dreading and putting off for over a decade. It's nothing serious at all, and no matter what he says I won't be any worse off, but I just personally happen to dread going and it's with a new doctor that I don't even know.
I told F that I would be at the doctor's and so I would have to skip our usual lunch together. I got all mentally prepared to go, set out a nice outfit to wear, and went to bed early. Then this morning I awakened to the sounds of my lawn guy mowing, and he mows on Wednesdays.
So tomorrow I have to go through this all over again.

My first SS payment hit the checking account. After eight years of retirement with DH I am still amazed that we are okay financially. Life is good.

Congratulations! Once they get started, they just keep coming like clockwork, every month. It's a wonderful thing to see that monthly SS deposit landing in one's bank account.

I spent a few hours at my brothers earlier today...he had an existing house moved onto a foundation last week. Today's job was building a 8' X 6' landing where a new entry door will go. After that was done, I took very careful measurements and will be building him 2 half sets of stairs (up and down).

Went to the Dr's office and got flu shots for me and DW, then to the optometrist's for new glasses for DW and contacts for myself, then took DW to a late lunch/early dinner.

Helped a friend set up his new router after the result of his house getting hit by lightning. Determined his wireless Sonus system is now defunct from the surge. That adds to the two TV's and pool power panel. What a mess. Also blew 1/2 the bricks off his chimney.
DW got a flu shot and I declined.

I'm planning on getting a lightning protection system on my new house. It will set me back $5K. Lots of lightning up here. Probably worth it.

Dug a 300' trench and installed a new security line between house and workshop. Got stung by 2 bees.

Spent half a day yesterday at the National Museum of the USAF.
First visit since their new 4th building has been open, and it's incredibly impressive. The place only gets about a million visitors a year, and it's so huge that you never feel crowded inside. Just relax and browse around. I've been visiting for 40 years and there are always great new exhibits.

Today I booted Windows 10, and it made me wait while it did this and that. Finally got to desktop, where it prompted me that TightVNC was uninstalled. Super annoying M$ crap.
We went out for a morning of exercise on the front lawn, blowing leaves, shredding, and sweating.

WIN 10 updated my desktop also. Took about an hour to get my stuff back to where I was before the irritation. Even removed Classic Shell and my desktop image. If this keeps up, Linux is in my future.
