I'm partial to Mint Chocolate Chip, but DW finds it absolutely irresistible and sometimes even gets mad at me if I buy some, especially if I get two so there will be some left for me. So I'll settle for 2nd place Raspberry Chocolate chip, which DW won't touch since she hates raspberries.

We will be in Blue Bell country later this week and now I have to demand to my peeps that they stock up for us.

Best wishes Dave.

A knock on the door brought a fellow peddling gravel to the door. I was ready to have some hauled in and he's spreading it. Price was right, but he said 2 pickup truck loads. Gravels pretty heavy, he had an old square box F250. I missed the first load, the second one was up over the top, the back end all squatted down. I noticed it was a F-350, I am very pleased with this guy's work.

You simply MUST try Blue Bell Cherry Vanilla. It's so much better than it sounds like it will be. I am so glad that BestWifeEver has tried it and likes it too. She KNOWS.

After my first tooth extraction, F bought the ice cream for me. I told him any flavor would do. The only reason he picked cherry vanilla, was that it was on sale. I never had it before, but now it's my favorite. Before my tooth extraction, I don't think I had ice cream in my house for over a decade.

REWahoo, what is life in Texas without Blue Bell? They sell those little 1 pint containers at Walgreen's, and if you split it between your DW and yourself then you won't overdo.

Is that stuff like Ben & Jerry's or Haagen-Dazs?

Took the girlfriend out to lunch, walked the dog and picked up a nice Swordfish steak for supper.

No, it's Bluebell... the best brand of ice cream on earth.

I looked at their buttered pecan and compared it to my Haagen-Dazs butter pecan.

Haagen has 50% more calories and 50% more fat. I'll stick with Haagen -

See that's why we Southerners are known far and wide for being so stick-thin, petitie, and slender .... It's our BlueBell ice cream. Which by the way is the best in the universe! Nobody down here eats Haagen Dazs.

Edited to add: Of course, last year they (Blue Bell) had a huge recall due to listeria contamination. So, there's that....

Dave - best wishes on a clear CT scan. A friend of ours just went through the stomach reconfiguration surgery and is doing well.

Great that you're back in the shop again!

I ate Haagen-Dazs or Ben and Jerry’s every night. I was till I got the results of my bloodwork. Too many saturated fats. I will overcome!

I'm a "nibbler"

A pint (14 oz) tub of haagen will last me 10 servings, more than a month.

I drink whole milk too maybe a quart a month.

I don't over indulge, but when I do I want it to be really good!

Anybody here like Tillamook ice cream? We don't have it in the Midwest, however they do have out in Southern Utah. While we were snowbirding and shopping in the local Albertsons they had a coupon special 4 cartons....the round ones for 12 bucks.

Couldn't resist, we had some of the best ice cream ever..we were there for over a month and managed to get through all 4 cartons. Malted Moo Shake , Hazelnut and Salted Caramel YUM!

Before I found out I was getting more dental surgery, I decided to "take a page out of your book" and order something expensive online that is out of the ordinary and yet sounds really good. Our member Ready really likes Quest Protein Mint Chocolate Chunk protein bars, that are only 180 calories with 0 sugar, so I ordered them from Amazon.

If I like them, I'll look for a cheaper source. But they sound really good, and I have the money, so I figure why not.

Sent 6 hours volunteering with the AARP/IRS tax program. I am sometimes shocked at how little some of these folks live on.

Went to the DMV and got DW's handicap vehicle plates for her car, however, she hasn't driven in the last two months. But at least I can drive her to wherever she needs to go.

Maybe their money is under the mattress.

There's a van-dwelling Web site where people talk about how to live on two budgets: $500/month or $1000/month. These people do not even have to do tax returns.

That's how to do it. My control is binary, all on or off. I will buy a pint of good stuff in the future just not for everyday.

Today: Bought a ton of wood pellets for our Harman 105K BTU boiler, hauled them home and toted them into the basement, one 40-lb bag at a time.

After that, helped out at two hourlong dog-training classes at our local dog club.

I'm now headed out for a 3/4 mile evening walk with OUR dog. Then, I'm putting my feet up.

Whew, that sounds hideous. Seriously. Maybe not so bad when one is young, but that is sure not something I'd want to experience now as I am growing older.

To repeat a memorable quote (attributed to numerous ladies, including Mae West and Sophie Tucker),

"I've been rich and I've been poor. Rich is better."
