What did you do today? 2017 version

Went hiking, saw Manchester by the Sea, and did some work in the garage setting up workbench and cabinets.

Went to Epcot in Orlando, now chilling at our resort, waiting for the weather to warm up tomorrow.

Had a new set of snow tires put on the car in preparation for my trip out west for some skiing in a couple of weeks. This was my first time ordering tires from tirerack.com and I was very impressed with both price and service. I expect to be a regular customer now.

It's been cold and snowy so I decided to go visit a saddle maker and shoot the **** with him. Then I ran into a guy that I worked with over the summer in a part time job and we had a good visit. They want me to come back in the spring and work 2 or 3 days a week. I told him I would.

Had a wellness check today at Dr. Unfortunately, have to start blood pressure medication. Had a Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine for the first time. Shoulder is sore, more so than when I got a flu shot.

Had my shingles shot yesterday, at the cost of $213.00 Canadian. (May be shutting the proverbial barn door, but if it helps prevent another attack then I'm more than happy.)

Must be the Ontario surcharge? Ours were $199 each in BC.

Why they are not covered is a mystery to me. So much benefit at so little costs.

Pick up friends at the airport, take them to Costco for initial stock-up then to their condo on the beach.

Got to pay for all the harebrained government schemes, I guess.

They've recently made it no-charge for those between 65-70; DW is too young, and I'm too old.

Had a call with my new Fidelity rep. How rude, my old guy retired and didn't tell me.

Since our move he couldn't really help anyway. New guy is a phone rep and likely we will never meet face to face. I like him, he asked a couple of very pointed questions about managed vs index funds. Much to my surprise he suggested moving out of the few managed funds I still have. He's sending a suggestion to review.

Based on a different thread here about advice on Roth vs. ACA subsidies I asked for input. His suggestion was a good CPA might help.

Afternoon was fun, UPS delivered a pair of snowshoes. Got to try them on the crusty snow on the ground, work great. I'm ordering another pair for DW now.

We have a place just north of there. If you are looking for another road trip to that area, take 3 south out of Merritt Island and go all the way south to Indian Harbor Beach. Such a neat drive. You can then take A1A all the way up to Port Canaveral and have lunch there.

Today is resort day. Slept in, had a pot of coffee, made breakfast in our room. On porch now, we will go down to the pool area eventually.

Said goodbye to our last visitor this morning. We've had family guests since early December, with only 1 day free. Whew! Glad they came, glad they left.

Wow, that's above and beyond when it comes to hospitality. I really think you need to invest in some uncomfortable mattresses.
