What did you do today? 2018 version

Hope that works for you. I had a problem about 3 years ago that was so bad I could barely walk. After a few xrays, (and something poping in the knee, maybe back in place, a couple of days before the appointment) the doc said start taking Aleve daily. I haven't had a severe problem since and I am still taking the Aleve.

Sounds like you got past any severe issues. I've been taking Aleve daily and it's not been helping. We will see how the shot works out. I never had knee problems, even when I was an active long distance runner years ago. It's a new world now, I guess.

Turned on the house A/C. It’s a dry heat. (I hate that phrase.)

I'm waiting 10 days for woodworking supplies to arrive, so I decided to clear a few acres of brush. Had to take my brush cutter apart and clean it in order to get it running. Then chainsawed down some dead trees. Then took a break and made a hiking stick.

You California people have the life!:dance: All my Home Depot has is a hot dog stand. :(

:D

Home Depot is its own reward. Even if I bring the Aisle / Shelf info for whatever I am actually there for, I get sidetracked. You can go down any aisle and think "Oh, I could use that to make ... ". So many possibilities.

The depot is cool. I've been ordering stuff they don't have and having it shipped to the store free and now they are even shipping lots of stuff to my home for free. Maybe competing with Amazon?

Alas, my HD does not have the hot dog and drink stand but they are in a strip mall with lots of eateries.

Replaced my shower head with a modern one that has a spray hose. My dream is to spray-bottle the tiles with a Dawn/vinegar mix, let it sit awhile, then spray it off with the spray hose, and shower cleaning is DONE.

This process actually started yesterday. The package said "No tools installation". Ha ha. True for their product but getting the old as-in-50-years showerhead off took all day AND a trip to the local hardware store.

The band that attached the showerhead did not move AT ALL, with my sustained maximum effort. No wiggle, no sound, nothing. So I turned to google. According to Goog I could use a blowtorch to soften up the crud inside, or get some Liquid Plumber. So I opted for the Liquid Plumber.

That stuff is a wonder. Dripped a good dose of it into the crack between the thing that would not turn and the shower arm. Was going to wait overnight but I tried to turn it after an hour and it turned right off.

Today I put in the new head in with a few easy wrist twists and the washers that came in the package. It doesn't leak!

After all that work/effort you probably welcomed a shower! Well done!

(Oh, did I mention that we have some projects that need doing around here?)

Drove from home to Morgantown, WV, ~2 1/2 hours mostly on I-68, one of the few interstates that has some interesting scenery. Tomorrow morning they're going to stick some tubes down my throat and look/poke around in there. DW will drive me back to the hotel, where we're staying an extra night because I won't be able to drive for the rest of the day because of the anesthesia. DW has a miserable cold which is the reason for staying the extra night at the hotel. I'll drive back Tuesday.

I had the choice of doing this in Baltimore, a bit over an hour from home, or Morgantown, and Morgantown despite being the longer drive is by far the easier drive. And we can see the hospital from the hotel, which seems to be in a nice area, while Johns Hopkins in Baltimore is in a kind of sketchy area. And the docs at home are familiar with this specialist's work.

So for tomorrow when I get out, hopefully no later than noon or so, the plan is to laze around the hotel and take up space.

Well, today was snowing but very nice beautiful day. I decided to change oil and sharpen the blade on my Honda push mower. I did that and also changed the oil on the snow blower and it will be ready for next winter. On bad weather days I like to get things done like that so I can play on the good weather days. LOL

Woke up this morning and fixed pool sweep, and installed ceiling fan. Wife's birthday is next week so we went to Golf Galaxy and after several hours, bought her a Scotty Cameron Putter. Pretty busy day for a Sunday. Perhaps I will need to take it easy tomorrow.

Good luck Walt. Hope it all goes smoothly and they see everything they're supposed to and nothing they aren't. Take care.

OMW. I am woman!

Don't ask me to replace the metal trim around your pot lights though. I dropped one from ceiling height onto a finished hardwood floor. Added "Buff out floor scratches" to project list. It's a rotating list. Projects rotate off the top. Fallout from the projects gets added to the bottom.

Today I will work on the post for the porch gate. Sunday I set (4) 1/2" x 16" long all thread rods in a steel frame into the ground with 50 lbs of post concrete and 45 lbs of mortar. Yesterday I bought the 4x4 redwood post and the other wood and today I will do the sawing drilling and screwing needed.

Gave that up decades ago, but used to use candles anyway. ;)

LOL. I just got that NOW on second reading scrolling through the thread. My state legalized but didn't implement right away, so I need the pot lights for this July.

Heading up to the mountain house so I can attend kayak roll practice set up for the guides. I need to refresh my technique after the winter layoff. I plan to get out on the river this Saturday, and I’d much rather practice my roll in the warm pool water than in the 40 degree river.

My annual (get down on your hand's & knees with washcloths) cleaning of my kitchen & dining room floor. Exciting huh !!

Had some complications from the procedure and it turns out that about 5% of patients get pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas). Guess who won the pancreatitis lottery?

So instead of one day in the hospital this has turned into at least a four-day stay, I might be released tomorrow. In the meantime, besides posting a lot from here, I am perfecting my tissue bank shot off the wall and into the trash can. DW thoughtfully placed the trash can so it would do double duty as an entertainment device and took the photo.

Went to the gym, attended a 12 step meeting, and took a 25 minute phone interview for my perspective next side hustle.

Saw my neighbor come home in his pretty red Maserati. He’s such a miserable cuss. Changed the bed linens for summer (it’s 90).Turned the valves on for the solar to the pool. Now I’m settled in to watch hockey and bs text with my hockey buddies. Boy is life good!
