Yep...Oil Industry for 25 years. Still taking it easy, traveling and getting used to sleeping on a regular schedule

Married no children. DH has one daughter and one G'son.

Born in Texas, I was a Marine rugrat, I attended 13 different schools. Live on Gulf Coast of Texas the last 25 years.

I am a project manager for a paving co. I ran my own co. for 18 years before selling. DW is an analytical chemist for a major pharma.

#1 - I'm a dentist, not retired...not sure I ever want to fully retire because I really love what I do. I will likely just cut back. Right now I work 32 hrs a week. Maybe I might eventually taper down to 20 hrs a week or so.

#4 - I grew up in the DC metro area and never left, although sometimes I wish I had moved to norcal where the weather is just perfect for me.

It is very nice to hear from and see all of those "on the verge" of FIRE and those (like myself) that do not post often!

I would hope that (for the education of us "newbies") that more of the better established posters might allow us to get to know them better as well ....it's always nice to have an idea of "where you are coming from" with your advice and responses!

1) Still employed. I'm an Accountant and DH is an Engineer.

2) now 45, plan to retire at 46 - I never thought I would be so eager for a birthday to come around

4) Grew up in Australia but now consider ourselves to be citizens of the world. Have lived in 7 different countries.

5) Daily, think it helps me to be around people who have also figured out that work is an overrated experience.
