1. Retired (DH too). Was in human/health services (testing and advising
persons with disabilities about educational and vocational possibilities).
Have a master's degree, but have the dubious distinction of (in all
likelihood) being the lowest earner on this board when employed (DH as
well).

2. 53 now (both of us), 52 when we retired.

3. Married, no kids, one tremendous (25 pounds) orange tabby.

4. Grew up in New Jersey, went to graduate school in Virginia, lived
in Florida, now in suburban Atlanta.

5. Lurk daily. Am working up courage to post more often.

1. Not yet. I'm a lawyer working 50 - 60 hours per week.

2. Age 50. Hope to wind down substantially over the next 5 years and then work part-time or find some fun second career for a few years.

3. Married. DW is 46 and working too. Two kids, ages 19 and 20, both in college.

4. Born, raised and still living in Arizona. It's a great placeto live so I'll still be here when I retire.

5. Visit every other day or so. I'm new so I'm still going through old threads to learn.

#1 - I'm a dentist, not retired...not sure I ever want to fully retire because I really love what I do. I will likely just cut back. Right now I work 32 hrs a week. Maybe I might eventually taper down to 20 hrs a week or so.

#2 - I'm 43 yrs old

#3- Happily married, 3 kids (17, 11, 9)

#4 - I grew up in the DC metro area and never left, although sometimes I wish I had moved to norcal where the weather is just perfect for me.

#5 - I just recently found this board, but I've been visiting every day

Thanks to ALL that have posted and shared!

It is very nice to hear from and see all of those "on the verge" of FIRE and those (like myself) that do not post often!

I would hope that (for the education of us "newbies") that more of the better established posters might allow us to get to know them better as well ....it's always nice to have an idea of "where you are coming from" with your advice and responses!

Thanks again!!

1) Still employed. I'm an Accountant and DH is an Engineer.

2) now 45, plan to retire at 46 - I never thought I would be so eager for a birthday to come around

3) Married with zero children or pets.

4) Grew up in Australia but now consider ourselves to be citizens of the world. Have lived in 7 different countries.

5) Daily, think it helps me to be around people who have also figured out that work is an overrated experience.
