Yeah, even if you know you don't need it those CDs make you nervous. I have set-up several wireless routers and never used the CD but I always worried in the back of my mind that I was loosing the advantage of some powerful control software or something.

ERD50, Grumpy, et al.
Thank you so much for advice. I installed an Airport Extreme card in my iMac G4 (instructions were in the iMac User's Guide), configured an Airport Extreme Base Station and now all of my computers (Macs and PCs) are playing nicely on the network.

Good to hear it!

Now that it is all working, you should (unless you did already) go back and password protect the network. Opinions differ, use the best available that is compatible with all your computers, but I think *any* type of protection is good enough for home use. There are so many unprotected networks out there, why would anybody bother to crack a protected one, no matter how weak. Easier to just tap into the one down the street.

I configured the network, I set it to WPA. That seemed to make sense.
