Re: Regret of quiting
I was in a similar situations ... on a job with a Federal Agency, old enough and with enough years in to ER ... but I waited around for nearly two extra years becuase the "rumor mill" was "sure" there would be reductions in force, with a small "buy out" incentive nearly every week. My boss assured me there was no chance of anything like that in my departement so I finally just took my regular retirement at age 58 (when I could have gone at 55).
Well my boss got the early out incentive 3 months after I left ... coincidence, eh?
But regrets? Only that I waited two years after the gate was open. There will _always_ be something that could have been, might have worked, but a life based on regret isn't really a life worth living ... go when the time is right and don't was time looking back.
