Savings?

Yes, I was talking about ING. They offer 2.1%
I just set up an account with them

I have an acct in ING too. I use it for my irregular bills, house insurance, property tax, car ins....that kind of stuff. It takes about 2 or 3 days to have the money transfer back to your checking account, but that works for me. I never need it quicker than that anyway.

I keep my Emergency money (6-8 months expenses) in my MOney market account, because the smallest check you can write on that acct is 250.00.

Maggie, if you are as persistent in your pursuit of ER
as you are on this forum I predict a great future for you.

Cheers,

Charlie

My credit union just introduced an unusual new MM type account. You need to have at least 25k in it and can only make one withdrawal a month, but it pays 2.5%. Pretty good.

Hello TH! Yeah that credit union MM is a good deal.
I have a better one but it's going to expire soon.
I get 3% with unlimited check writing/withdrawals
and free checks. The bad news is that in about 30 days
I will have to look for a new home.

Those GMAC notes may increase rates tomorrow. Todays 2.5% could go higher. BTW as previous posts noted one of the criteria is being a GM/GMAC customer. I assume anyone with a GM car loan qualifies (wife's Envoy!)

If it stays at 2.5% I won't bite. I can get that locally.
