Savings Milestone 100k!
Aah! I just realized that I have over $100k saved - most of it in my 403b, some in a roth and some in cash savings...I can't believe it!
Thanks to you all for your great advice. I'm savoring it while it lasts, since in these times it can only last for a moment!
My AA is pretty aggressive, I'm 33 so I think I'll keep it that way a while longer...maybe consider some adjusting at 35, then 40?
Any tips appreciated.
It's great to have a group of folks who are so great at this to motivate me and give me a sense of how you made it to where you are - thanks y'all!

$100,000 would have been a number to FIRE on in 1970.........
Congrats!! Celebrate by cutting out a coupon for a 2 for 1 at Denny's or something with the hubby.........

Isn't the "I can't believe it" feeing the best! I think you are giving a great tip in thinking it won't last, so the fluctuations won't come as a shock. I stayed totally aggressive until about age 49 but if I had it to do over again, I might have added bonds earlier, as you say age 40ish.

Yeah, funny thing is that right when I started my 403b was just after the dot bomb so my first few years were pretty neg returns, then happy days after the up, then back down again, so I've gotten adjusted to the ride!
My 403b isn't even in the black yet... but my roth is!
I honestly didn't realize it till today when I was checking accounts...

Congratulations. Each of the shares in your accounts will continue toiling away on your behalf like tiny robots. Some years they will be more productive than others, but the long-term historical trend is decidedly up.
The next big milestone comes several years from now as you continue to squirrel the bucks away. One year stocks will do really well and when you run the numbers it will turn out that your little robot earners brought in more money than you earned in your j*b. That's a great feeling. Don't worry, it will happen sooner than you might think.

Thanks samclem - as for the earning more than my job - I remember just being excited when it first earned more than my contributions 
But given this wild year, my contribution was about $4k for last quarter and returns were $14k! But I know that's just trekking back up the slide it fell down, but still cool to think about for a minute...

Congrats!!! I find that reaching big milestones is a rewarding payoff and great motivation to keep saving and embracing the whole LBYM thing...
On or about my birthday in 2014 I should reach one of the big milestones that many of us dream about when we are young and just starting out on a path to financial responsibility. Granted, this milestone isn't as sexy as it once was, but still cool...
I love this forum.... rapidly becoming one of my favorite haunts. (nice Haloween pun!)

I'm still working for my $200K mark, got close a year or so ago. Still waiting and saving. After the first 100K it seems to go faster. Tho I am still waiting for my second 100k...
