Option (B) please. I would be too worried if I were to be without an emergency fund. It may take 6 plus months in your area to find employment if one of you were to be suddenly without a job. IMHO, please have enough of a rainy-days fund to cover 6 months of expenses, then take the remainder to pay down a significant portion of the mortgage.
