curious as to why/how names appear differently

For me, posters' names appear in one of three different ways so far:
1. small black text
2. Large blue underlined text
3. Large blue bold underlined text

I poked around the vbulletin FAQ but didn't come across anything that explains these distinctions. Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance.

Here is a what they mean:

1. small black text <-- account was deleted at some point, this was the old username
2. Large blue underlined text <-- standard account
3. Large blue bold underlined text <-- moderators/administrators
