Seems there's some history here that I wasn't aware of. Thanks, Nords, I understand your perspective now.

If the discussion is about whether to implement tags/sub-forums or fix the search, I'm with you: fix the search feature.

If the discussion is about whether to implement tags or sub-forums as a way to further categorize and group threads of a similar subject, I strongly prefer the tag metaphor. I think the labor involved in both approaches is similar. Somebody will either be tagging posts, or moving posts that were put in the wrong place. Yes, I'd be willing to be a tagger (my usual fee would apply ).

I've never been an administator nor moderator on any site. Why? Because of the amount of time that I perceived it would take (I'm still a working stiff), and the pain of dealing with the small but loud percentage of posters who are unreasonable muckrakers. Much thanks and respect to all those who answer the call to duty.
