Having problems logging in

I don't know if I'm the only one having problems or not. I've not seen anything mentioned. For the last two days, I have had problems getting into the forum. I have only been able to sign on 2 times in the last 2 days. My browser (Safari) can't can't connect and it times out with error msg saying it can't find the site. Help? I'm writing this now, not knowing if I will be able to sign back on to read the reply, if and when I do log out.

Nope, I've been getting lots of problems being unable to access the site for at least 3 days now. Its been OOS for maybe up to an hour.

Its just become so commonplace that I quit making note of it.

Are you having trouble connecting to the site or staying logged in? If it's staying logged in, then you might have a corrupt cookie. To fix that you need to go to area in the Browser settings (not sure where it is in Safari) and delete the cookie(s) from Early-Retirement.org. Then login again and it will reset your cookies.

CFB, can you run a trace route for me next time you have trouble connecting. That will help me understand if it's a backbone issue or where the issue is happening.

Yep. I did try the www1 and www2 and neither was responding.

I can tell you a couple of times when it did happen, for what thats worth.

The 11th around 9pm pacific Not sure when it came back.

The 12th around 5pm-6:30

The 13th at 10am

Seems good today.

At the time of unreachability, I had access to a dozen other sites in at least 5 completely different geographic regions, no faults on my cable modem, and no funny business in my router logs. Tried it from my wifes computer (which btw is better than mine ) and it was bad there too.

I'm having trouble connecting. Had trouble for the last two days and tried repeatedly. I logged out earlier this morning and was able to get back in this time, but, it was a little jagged or slow in connecting.

Definitely, I need some some more info to tell give the server admins. Can you please run a traceroute (link) and copy/paste the output and send it to me via PM (or post it to this thread) it will give me the data needed to provide it to them.

Also, a detail of the error in your browsers would be good. The exact text that you are seeing. You can either cut and paste or attach a screen shot.

Thanks in advance for providing that info, it will help diagnose the issue.

I wasn't able to log on at all yesterday. I tried this morning very early thinking maybe there was less traffic at this time and I was able to get in. I don't get an error message. I just get timed out and Safari just says "can't find server".
