Through new high tech database technology I have been able to determine that John Galt aka MRGALT2U, through three usernames and a long stint of guest posting, has posted 4388 messages since he arrived.

With a nod of approval from Dory36 I assigned ownership of JG's two previous accounts' messages to his current account. I may assign the guest "John Galt" posts to him if we can be fairly sure he originated them all. Does anyone recall any counterfeit "John Galt" guest posts?

After MRGALT2U's next post the board should assign him to the appropriate post rank group.

I also changed MRGALT2U's signup date to the signup date of his first account and set his postcount at 4388 so the posts/day statistic is valid.

Now, who else has been posting as guest or multi-accounts? unclemick and charlie/Chuck-Lyn jump to mind....

Well th has more posts/day, so he may yet regain the top spot.

I just noticed I managed to bump myself off the top 10 now that JG is up there.

Hmmm

Old posts with webtv and a sticky keyboard - Actually count!!.

Who'd have thunk it!

Hello BMJ, Dory and all.

Well, I am truly honored (if not humbled) :) Man, that's a lot of posts and I'm still going. I know this is surely viewed with mixed emotions in some quarters. I only hope that some of what I posted
has helped (or at least entertained/amused). Just imagine what
heights I could reach once I learn to post photos :)
10,000 posts is definitely doable. One thing is certain. I will never
run out of opinons and observations.

BTW, I want to add my kudos to BMJ and Dory for their good
work on the conversion. It was smooth and the results are
terrific.

I would like to thank BMJ and Dory for this wonderful site. I learn a lot and keep reading hoping to learn more.

JG, you definitely amuse! Keep it up!

"You're welcome" to everyone who has thanked me, and thank all of you for the gratitude. 8)

I occasionally feel like I'm taking some thunder away from Dory36, but it is his board and his server and his expense, so I would like to join in thanking him, too. The success of this site must be due to his laid-back personality, or perhaps he really does pay the top posters by the post. I'll let you know since I may be up there soon. :D

How else do you think I manage to enjoy these fine boxed wines ;)

Thanks Jim, and thanks to Dory for the original tree that Jim transplanted.

Hey Jim, since JG appears to break all of his posts into two separate musings posted sequentially, can we divide his post count in half? ;)

If I ever have the independence/freedom to retire early and then I spend my free time posting 4388 messages on the internet to strangers, I authorize anyone here to put me out of my misery. Maybe it's just me, but seems like such a waste...

I see your point, but here is what you are missing. You probably
envision someone without a life sitting at the keyboard all day long.
Wrongo! I hardly ever visit any other websites. I have opinions,
observations and critiques on practically everything and will share
them with practically anybody. But, the key here is that those 4388
posts took up very little time and gave me a lot of pleasure. I write
very fast (which accounts for the occasional error in spelling/grammar).
Bottom line; in the big scheme of things I enjoy this immensely
and it takes almost no time away from other activities. I could have
doubled that post total with no strain on my schedule.
It's a gift, man! :)

JG

My posts per day are actually higher than Mr. Galt's, so I won't be running any smack talk myself! ;)

I post between tasks at work, and when the daughter naps before my wife gets home. As long as it fits in the spaces in between life, and doesn't become life! :)

As many retirees on this board can attest, a man's attitudes and priorities can change once he is retired. Mine have and it feels darn good.

You are judging things while living in the Employee Standard Time zone. JG and I have moved on. We live in the Retirement Standard Time zone.

It probably takes no more than 20-30 minutes combined in a day for me to rack up these posts. 'puters on all day and in a fairly central location. Everytime I walk by I poke it for a minute or two. Check the news, pick up a few more emails, look at the latest business #'s and stock prices. Since an hour ago when I got up, I think i've managed about 15 posts (not counting the frivolous double posts made in jest). I've prepared a meal, fed the dogs, made up 8 baby bottles, talked with the wife about a half dozen topics, taken a half dozen baby pictures, retrieved the newspaper, read another chapter from "secrets of the baby whisperer" and chased the dog around the couch a couple of times.

Dazzle me with stories of what all y'all working people have gotten done in the last hour

Shucks, I thought it was just a quality/quantity binary decision...

Actually, there is so much substance, pithy observation, insightful
commentary, and dead-on pontificating in each of my posts, it would be more appropriate to double or triple my total. When I think of the knowledge and entertainment I have dispensed. You know the best part? I'm just getting warmed up. :)

Oh jeez...its a good thing I'm wearing my short pants or my cuffs would be filling up right now...

Edited for clarity. >:D

Hey, REW, you wouldn't be taking that attitude to work these days, too, would you?!?
Guilty as charged. Also unrepentant, showing absolutely no remorse, and feeling damn near bulletproof! Life is good...:D

I wish I was given some notice. I would have walked around with a huge grin on my face thinking "nah nah, nah nah, nah... nah!" >:D
