Welcome CuppaJoe, Newest Moderator

During the wee hours of the morning, a task force from the board administrative offices kidnapped CuppaJoe, brainwashed him/her, and turned Cuppa into a moderator.

As you might imagine, we welcome the help during this robust election season, and CuppaJoe was unanimously endorsed by the broken down old admins and mods. Excellent poster, thoughtful, balanced, and with a great sense of humor.

Welcome, CuppaJoe, and thanks for joining the mod squad.

Now, step this way so I can show you our weapons...

Atta boy! McCain uses his acceptance speech to urge people to volunteer in their communities, and CuppaJoe steps right up!

Joshing aside, thanks for pitching in. I'm sure it is a thankless job. The ten-spot is in the mail.

To CuppaJoe and all the moderators -- thanks for doing what is probably one of the most thankless jobs on the planet.

I always assumed your forum name was slang for Cup of Joe (coffee). You will likely need to change your name to CuppaBooze after a few weeks.

Good idea. I got the idea from a newspaper story many years ago, when I landed in London thoroughly jet-lagged the story of an employee strike for better cuppa break conditions always stuck in my mind. Of course, they meant cuppa tea which I changed to CuppaJoe, I can change it again it needed.

Hey CJ,
I'm not sure whether to offer cheers or condolences. Don't forget your haz-mat suit when wading into the Soapbox.

I seem to have been out the day they handed out moderator gear - but I went to the local strip mall and provisioned up anyway.

Advil
Booze
New battery for laptop
Had my phone number delisted
Canceled my subscription to mad magazine

Martha has the official moderator whip right now.

Yeah that'd be swell. Half the users would run away and I'd ban the other half and let god sort them out.

Not to worry, everyone; I figure it will take me two weeks to find the whip; in the meantime, it's open season! When I came here I was hazed by the best of 'em. I've been in the soapbox recently, I know you are up to it.

There was a computer game back in the '80s called Adventure, probably a rip off of a more famous game. At the very beginning you had to figure out "drop whip, pick up stick" something like that.
