Re: Whew!

Can you move that ad to the left a little...ok...to the right a little...tip that right edge up just a bit...perfect!

Hardly even noticeable. The first ad that came up for me was "Retire in 3 years". I'm so excited! Only 3 more years of all this stuff i'm doing before I can really kick back and enjoy myself...

Well, that didn't draw any ire . . . I'll try something more meretricious . . .

Dory, are you sure you are thriving with this early retirement thing? Not many of us married guys get so bored we seek to rile up the Mrs. just for the heck of it.

mer·e·tri·cious

OK, I get it. Yeah, THOSE kinds of ads can really bring in some $ to support the forum.

(...second consecutive sarcasm post)

Mainly mealy meanness of a measurably manly misadverturousness to the mousy.

Re: Whew!

I notice a 2nd Google ad is at the bottom of the page, but this one shows up for registered users, too. Actually saw one of the graphic ads that Google is trying out. It was animated somewhat irritatingly but only cycled about 3 times then quit animating.

The 2nd ad was my 2nd step, as mentioned above:

One useful byproduct... the stats I get from Google (along with the $0.56 per day -- the average so far) show that 41% of the page views are for guests, 59% for logged-in members. I am not sure what conclusions to draw from that, but it is interesting to see how it splits.

Note to all you guests: The only reason we require registering to post is to keep the spam under control. C'mon in -- the water's fine!

Read about it, click on the 'install' link, and voila. It cant/doesnt block Flash, but most everything else is dropped. You can add your own 'content'/sites to filter, it comes with enough filters already enabled to suit me fine.
Get flashblock. It will put a little symbol where flash is in the page. If you want to see it, just click the symbol.
