That is a great idea. I had not thought of that since I have always had dental insurance before, it never occurred to me.

I have Aetna Dental Access because my dentist participates and it was one of the lower cost options. I'd suggest you go to dentalplans.com, enter your zip, and (if you want to stay with your current dentist) search for plans in which the dentist participates. That helps narrow it down.

Also, if you decide to join (or when you are ready to renew), keep your eyes open for one of their periodic deals. I normally renew when I can get 10-20% off the regular price, plus 3 months free.

Thank you. Unfortunately my dentist(just called) doesn't participate, after 21 years of better than excellent dental care, I'll just bite the bullet.

My dentist isn't listed on any of the dental plans either, but we have been happy with him and he is very good about not suggesting unnecessary treatment.
