Sounds like a good idea for the minor things, as others have noted you don't have to sit in the waiting room.

I recall a young doc doing something like this via email in New York. I'll look around for the link. He also shopped a lot of clinics to show his clients the cheapest / best places to get service. It was working well for him.

I guess this is the rebirth of the house call. Although, with so many people switching solely to cell phones, I guess it's the pocket call?
